The 1302497 dust shield or dust cover is often lost over time.  Without this simple cover, road debris can enter your shifter mechanism. Exposing the shifter to debris and water can cause premature wear of your shifter and affect shifter performance. Our dust shield is made out of 301 Stainless Steel spring stock with a slightly heaver gauge that the stock plates.
