JT5 - Model ES

2009 marks our 3rd year building winning transmissions for the La Carrera Panamericana Race. With previous race data on hand, we were able to make significant improvements to the JT5 - Model CR to handle more power, reduce less heat, and increase horsepower to the rear wheels for this 2000 mile race.

Unlike other companies that make billet cases to mask stock T5 components, The Model ES still uses anOEM T5 case, but with a special coating to reduce heat and shearing forces of oil. Billet cases fail to dissipate heat for a number of reasons. Mostly they are just too thick and are poorly designed.

Internally the Model ES is far from stock. Here is a run down of what makes this beauty tick.

  • Semi Helical gears for reduced heat and added strength
  • All gears and shafts are made from 9310 alloy steel
  • Input spline is now 26 spline by 1 1/8" diameter ( same as Nascar)
  • CT4 Coated cases for reduced heat, improved oil flow
  • All gears are shot peened and Mikronite polished
  • Filtered vent system
  • 5th Gear Billet Steel Stabilizer system designed by us
  • Select fit rear yoke and bushing system.
