The JT5 XK-140/150 5 speed kit fits both 3.8L and 4.2L platforms in these cars. It uses our XK type gearbox. This is by far the easiest and fastest conversion. Since these cars have no crossmember mount the conversion becomes very simple. An adapter plate is used, which allows the JT5 to bolt up to your stock bellhousing. This transmission in stock form can handle 385 FT Lbs of torque. It is a proven gearbox and is suited for street use and racing where synchros are required. This conversion offers a much improved driveability and shift feel to your car.

Factory bellhousing heights are maintained . The factory clutch is maintained using our new disc. Factory hydraulics and or linkage remain stock and unchanged. Factory pilot bushing is maintained. Some peening of the floor pan may be required to clear the upper ears of the transmission. This does not effect the interior in any way. Short throw shifter is in exact location as factory shifter . Kit includes a new speedometer cable that hooks up to your stock speedometer, 5 speed gearbox, shifter, knob, driveshaft, clutch disc and adapter plate.
